Sunflower Block using Mini Quick Curve Ruler (QCR) with Judy Scollay – 4/21

Class description:

This class teaches you how to use the Mini Quick Curve Ruler (QCR) to make a stunning sunflower block from the Mini Wonderful Curves book.    There are several variations to the sunflower.   You can make one, or 3 for a table runner, or all 9 for a small quilt. The blocks go together quickly and the curved blocks are oversized so you do not need to pin the curves.  In this class we will “master” curves without pins and make at least one block.  This ruler is also used for many other blocks.

 

You will need the Mini Wonderful Curves Book and Mini Quick Curve Ruler.  Both are available in the store or online.  Link are below:

Other Class supplies:  Sewing machine in good working order with power cord and foot pedal, and Quarter Inch Foot for your machine.

Basic sewing supplies including scissors, pins, seam ripper, small cutting mat, rotary cutter.

Thread to match your background fabric.

Fabric:

If you choose to make only one block 24” X 24” you will need”

8 – 5” yellow squares (may be a variety of colors)

4- 5” squares of grey or browns

2- 5” squares of green

20- 4” squares of background fabrics (white, light grey, medium grey and light blue)

 

If you want to make the Quilt in the book:

Use the yardage in the pattern for the 56” X 56” wall hanging.

Gather your fabrics- no need to cut ahead of time.
