Don't you love the bag patterns from ByAnnie? We do, but we know that they are often intimidating for some of us. Join Barrett and learn the ByAnnie Basics by making 4 different projects over 4 separate classes. This series is meant to help you learn the basic skills and techniques in order to make any ByAnnie pattern successfully.
Barrett will help you learn everything from cutting and quilting to binding. You will work with mesh, vinyl and zippers (in small doses), learn how to create pockets and 3D projects. Minimal homework is required before each class and will be communicated beforehand.
Class 1: Petit Four Baskets (2 hours) March 9th - Quick to make and perfect for gifts, the Petit Four Baskets will hold all kinds of small treasures. Using only 10” x 11" rectangles of Soft and Stable and 10” squares of fabric to make these charming little baskets. We will make 2 in class and then talk about tips for quilting Soft and Stable to prepare for the Piecekeeper class. Finished dimensions: 2 ½”H x 5”W x 4”D
Techniques learned: Sew with Soft and Stable, discuss quilting with Soft and Stable
Class 2: Piecekeeper (3 hours) March 23rd - Store and carry all your project pieces or supplies in this handy zippered bag with attached handle. Finished dimensions: 11”H x 16”W
Techniques learned: Quilt Soft and Stable, create your own bias binding, attach zipper to mesh.
Class 3: Call Me (3 hours) April 6th - Keep everything handy in this lightweight badge holder/cell phone bag. It's perfect for conferences and shows, for workers who must carry an ID card, or just for running around town. Finished dimensions: 7 ¼”H x 4 ¾”W
Techniques learned: Create a strap with bias binding, sew with clear vinyl/mesh/fold over elastic(FOE).
Class 4: Easy Does It (4 hours) - April 20th - Store and carry all your essentials in this handy zippered bag with attached handles. Fabric quilted with Soft and Stable gives great body and stability and ensures long-lasting wear. Final dimensions: 6”H x 9”W x 4 ¼”D
Techniques learned: Create and attach bias binding to a 3D bag, fussy cutting fabric, improve topstitching.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 4 class series and you will register for all 4 at once. Patterns will be provided and homework will be required before each class. Future ByAnnie Classes may require that you have taken this series of classes.
Homework entails cutting your materials to size, and quilting your fabric and Soft and Stable (when applicable).
